Fostering a dog is a great way to help that does not cost a dime. You provide the love, exercise and daily care - we take care of the rest. Fostering is also a great way to see how a dog fits into your home before making a lifetime commitment. Our foster homes have first option to adopt the dogs in their care. The foster process is very similar to adopting. It also goes through the approval process and we will contact you on the status of the application. Many foster families have fostered before so this process is simplified. Once approved, we send you home with all the information and food you will need to take care of your temporary new addition. Foster families provide a tremendously positive home environment for dogs still looking for a forever home. Sometimes, however, families like to keep their options open and choose to do a foster-to-adopt.
**Fosters must be over the age of 21 and live within one hour of Freeport, Maine.
